Alva 500HD Hand-Powered Hydraulic Press Brake

The Alva 500HD is our most capable hand-powered hydraulic press brake to date. Designed and manufactured in the UK, it combines a heavy-duty fabricated steel frame with precision-machined tooling to deliver accurate, repeatable bends for fabrication workshops, maintenance departments and prototype work.

Built around a powerful 16-ton hydraulic bottle jack, the 500HD offers increased capacity over previous models while remaining compact enough for the home workshop or small fabrication business.

The segmented upper tooling allows complex folds such as boxes, trays, channels and return flanges, making it suitable for a wide range of fabrication tasks.

Key Features

  • Heavy-duty fabricated steel construction

  • Hand-powered hydraulic operation – no electricity required

  • Precision-machined segmented upper tooling

  • Dual-V lower die (22mm and 32mm)

  • Compact 600mm-wide footprint

  • Designed and manufactured in the Uk

Folding Capacity

32mm Lower Vee

Mild Steel

  • Up to 3mm thick across the full 500mm width

  • Up to 4mm thick over shorter bend lengths*

Stainless Steel

  • Up to 2mm thick across the full 500mm width

  • Up to 2.5mm thick over shorter bend lengths*

Aluminium

  • Up to 4mm thick across the full 500mm width

22mm Lower Vee

Ideal for thinner material where a tighter inside bend radius is required.

Typical capacities:

  • Mild steel up to 2mm across the full 500mm width

  • Mild steel up to 2.5mm across shorter lengths

  • Aluminium up to 3mm across the full width

The 500HD is ideally suited to manufacturing brackets, enclosures, panels, chassis components, repair work and prototype fabrication where professional results are required without the cost or space requirements of a powered press brake.

*Maximum bending capacity depends on material grade, bend length, tooling selection and bend geometry.
